About
Hey there,
have you ever found yourself wishing you could tell someone how much they mean to you, only to realize it’s too late? I’ve been there, and I believe I’m not alone.
That feeling struck me one rainy day, walking down the road, lost in thought and music. Memories of a friend lost to suicide weighed heavy on my mind. I wished I could have shared with him the love and support he deserved while he was still here.
I thought about the recovery method where you write letters to people who have passed away to let go of your thoughts and emotions. But then I asked myself, “Why do that when you could write letters to people while they are still alive?”.
That’s when the idea struck me like lightning: Why not create letters for our dear ones to read during their toughest times? Why wait for a tragedy to express what they mean to us?
During my travels across Europe, I met so many incredible people facing their own battles with mental health. It was shocking to hear how many had struggled with thoughts of suicide or felt lost in life. That’s when I started writing letters – little notes of kindness covered in envelopes. I just wanted them to remember how great they are and how much they are valued, a small reminder.
“Open up, when you’re feeling lost,” the message reads on the envelope.
These letters can be opened during tough times to remind us of the good things in life, shining a little light when everything seems dark. You can open the letter during tough times, but it also should encourage you to open up to people, to reach out to your loved ones, when things are getting tough.
In my eyes sharing your problems is not a weakness, it’s the opposite. A key to true strength!
And now, I want to share this simple idea with the world. Because sometimes, all it takes is a few words to remind someone that they’re not alone.
And that’s why I created LiftingLetters.
